The future of SR2 Blog

Hi there, thanks for dropping by.

SR2 Blog is the community-run neighbourhood news website, dedicated to the SR2 area of Sunderland. For more about us, see below the jump.

As of May 27 2010, SR2 Blog will be in a standby period until September 2010. I oversee the essential running and editing of the site and have taken up a job reporting media and technology news at the Guardian.

I move away from Sunderland this week and so can no longer devote the time, care or attention the community of SR2 deserves.

This is, of course, presuming no one volunteers to help out. If you fancy taking the reigns for a time, get in touch via the email address below or send us a message on Twitter.

From September, we’re making moves to get SR2 Blog integrated into the journalism course at University of Sunderland.

About SR2 Blog

We launched in October 2009 and are always looking for community reporters who either want to keep their neighbours on top of what’s going on down their street or vent on an issue that’s not being dealt with. If you live, work or know SR2 why not get involved?

Click here to start reporting SR2 today.

Overseeing SR2 Blog is me, Josh Halliday. I’m a journalism student at the University of Sunderland and I care about what goes on down my neighbouring streets. Ever heard sirens whizzing past and wanted to know what’s going on? Or know of something that’s not being reported by local media? Here’s the place to contribute to the knowledge.

SR2 Blog is not being run for profit. We plan to host advertising to cover our hosting costs only.

>>Click here to learn more about why we advertise and how to advertise.

If you’d like to jump on board and report for your community, or get involved in any way, email Josh at the address below.
