Police are appealing for witnesses after a 25-year-old male was stabbed in the chest at an address in Tower Street, Hendon, Sunderland.

The assault took place at around 11pm on Tuesday November 24, the victims injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Daniel Storey, 24, has been charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon. Storey is due before Sunderland Magistrates Court on Thursday 26 November.

Police described the stabbing as an ‘isolated incident’ and the two men are thought to know each other.
